بروقت فیصلہ
امیر المومنین عمر بن خطابؓ مسجد نبوی میں بیٹھے تھے کہ اتنے میں ان کے پاس سے ایک آ دمی کا گزر ہوا وہ کہ رہا تھا:
“اے عمر تمھارے لیے جہنم کا ویل ہے “
امیر المومنین نے حاضرین سے فرمایا: اس آدھی کو میرے پاس لاؤ۔
جب وہ آیا تو آپ نے پوچھا تم نے یہ بات کیوں کہی ہے؟
وہ کہنے لگا: آپ اپنے حکام کو مقرر کرتے وقت ان سے شرائط قبول تو کرواتے ہیں مگر ان کا محاسبہ نہیں کرتے کہ انھوں نے شرائط پوری کی ہیں یا نہیں؟
امیرالمومنین نے پوچھا: بات کیا ہے؟
وہ کہنے لگا: مصر میں آپ کا جو حاکم ہے، اس نے آپ کی شرائط کو فراموش کر کے ان باتوں کا ارتکاب کیا ہے جن سے آپ نے منع فرمایاہے۔
اس طرح اس نے امیر المومنین کو مصر کے حاکم کی خلاف ورزیوں کے متعلق بہت بتایا۔
یہ بات سننے کے بعد امیر المومنین نے قبیلہ انصار کے دو آدمیوں کو بغرض تفتیش مصر روانہ کیا اور ان سے فرمایا : تم دونوں مصر جاؤ اور حاکم کے متعلق وہاں کے لوگوں سے استفسار کرو ۔ اگر اس آدمی نے مجھے غلط رپورٹ دی ہو تو آگاہ کرنا ‘ اور اگر اس کی رپورٹ صحیح ہے اور حاکم و اقعی اپنی ذمہ داری میں کوتاہی کرتا ہے تو وقت ضائع کیے بغیر اسے لے کر میری خدمت میں پہنچو۔
دونوں انصاری امیر المومنین کےحکم کی تعمیل میں مصر روانہ ہوئے اور وہاں پہنچ کر لوگوں سے حاكم مصر سے متعلق حقیقت جاننی چاہی۔ انھیں وہاں وہی رپورٹ ملی جیسے مذکورہ شخص نے امیر المومنین سے شکایت کی تھی، چنانچہ ان دونوں نے حاکم کے گھرپہنچ کر دروازے پر دستک دی اور اندر آنے کی اجازت طلب کیا۔ دربان نے جواب دیا۔
“آج حاکم سے ملنے کی اجازت نہیں ہے” دونوں انصاری نے کہا:
“حاکم کو ہمارے سامنے ضرور نکلنا پڑے گا ور نہ ہم ابھی اس کا درواز پھونک دیں گے ۔
اتنے میں ایک انصاری جلدی سے کہیں سے آگ کا شعلہ بھی لے کر گیا۔
در بان اندر داخل ہوا اور حاکم مصر کو اس کی خبر دی۔ حا کم گھر سے باہر نکلا تو ان دونوں نے کہا: ہم امیرالمومنین کا پیغام لے کر آئے ہیں تمھیں ہمارے ساتھ چلنا ہوگا۔
حاکم نے کہا: میری ایک ضرورت ہے۔ تھوڑی دیر کے لیے مہلت دو تا کہ تیاری کرلوں۔
انھوں نے کہا: امیر المومنین نے ہمیں حکم دیا ہے کہ تمہیں ایک پل کی بھی مہلت نہ دی جائے۔
جب وو دونوں حاكم مصر کو لے کر مدینہ منورہ امیر المومنین عمر کی خدمت میں پہنچے تو اس نے سلام کیا مگر امیر المومنین نے اسے نہیں پہنچانا کیونکہ اس کی ہیت پہلے سے بہت بدل چکی تھی ۔ وہ مصر کا حاکم بن کر جانے سے قبل گندمی رنگ کا انسان تھا مگر جب مصر کی سرسبزی و شادابی اس کو راس آئی تو وہ گورا چٹا اور بھاری بھرکم انسان بن چکا تھا، اس لیے امیر المومنین نے تعجب سے پوچھا: تم کون ہو؟
اس نے عرض کیا: میں فلاں آدمی ہوں جس کو آپ نے مصر کا حاکم مقرر کیا تھا۔ امیر المومنین نے فرمایا
“تیرا ناس ہوا جس بات سےتجھے منع کیا گیا تھا اس کو تو نے گلے لگا لیا مگر جس بات کا حکم دیا گیا تھا اس کو فراموش کر بیٹھا۔
اللہ کی قسم! میں تجھے ضرور عبرتناک سزادوں گا”‑
پھر امیر المونین نے اون کا ایک پھٹا ہوا لباس، ایک لاٹھی اور صدقے میں آئی ہوئی تین سو بکریاں منگوائیں اور اس (حاکم مصر) سے فرمایا:یہ لباس زیب تن کرو، میں نے تمہارے باپ کو اس سے بھی ردی لباس پہنے ہوئے دیکھا۔ یہ لاٹھی اٹھاؤ جو تمھارے باپ کی لاٹھی سے کہیں بہتر ہے اور فلاں چرا گاہ میں جا کر ان بکریوں کو چراؤ۔ اس وقت سخت گرمی کاز مانہ تھا۔
امیرالمونین نے مزید فرمایا:
“اورتم راہ گزرنے والوں کو ان بکر یوں کا دودھ پینے سے مت رو کو،صرف عمر کے گھرانے والوں کو روکنا، کیونکہ مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ گھرانے والوں نے کبھی صدقے کی بکریوں کے دودھ یا گوشت میں سے کچھ استعمال کیا ہو”۔
جب وہ آ دمی ( حاكم مصر ) واپس ہوا تو امیر المومنین نے اسے بلایا اور پوچھا: جو کچھ میں نے کہا ہے،سمجھے یانہیں؟ وہ فوراً زمین پر گر گیا اور کہنے لگا:
“اے امیر المومنین !یہ کام مجھ سے نہیں ہوسکتا ،چاہے آپ میری گردن اڑا دیں۔” امیر المومنین نے فرمایا:
“اگر میں نے تہیں گز شتہ منصب پر بحال کر دیا تو پھر تم کس طرح کے آدمی ہو گے؟
وہ کہنے لگا:
اللہ کی قسم! اب اس کے بعد آپ کووہی ر پورٹ پہنچےگی جو آپ پسند کریں گے۔”
پھر امیر المونین نے اسے اس کے سابقہ عہدے پر فائز کردیا۔ چنانچہ اس کے بعد وہ آدمی مصر کا ایک مثالی حا کم ہو گیا اور اپنی ذمہ دار یاں خوف وتقوی اور اخلاص وللہیت کے ساتھ انجام دینے لگا۔
