مجھے یہ حالات معلوم ہوئے تو میں نے یہ بات ضروری سمجھی کہ امیر کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو کر اپنے ان دوستوں کی صفائی پیش کروں اور ان کا وظیفہ جاری کرا دوں۔ چنانچہ میں ایک دن امیر کے در دولت پر پہنچ گیا۔ لیکن دربان مجھے نہ جانتا تھا۔ اس نے دروازے ہی سے لوٹا دیا۔
دربان سے جھگڑنا بے سود تھا۔ اگر ایسے لوگ جن کی ظاہر ی حالت سے شان و شوکت ظاہر نہ ہوتی ہو، امرا کے دروازوں پر چائیں تو دربان اور کتے ان کے ساتھ ایسا ہی سلوک کرتے ہیں لیکن حسن اتفاق سے ایک شخص نے مجھے پہچان لیا اور وہ مجھے امیر کے دیوان خانے میں لے گیا۔
امیر نے مجھے دیکھا تو خوشی ظاہر کی اور عزت کی جگہ بیٹھنے کو کہا۔ لیکن میں معمولی آدمیوں کی صف میں بیٹھ گیا اور اس کی عنایتوں کا شکریہ ادا کر کے اپنے دوستوں کے وظیفے کا ذکر چھڑا۔ اس گفتگو میں جب میں نے یہ کہا کہ اللہ پاک ہی رزاق حقیقی ہے کہ وہ اپنے نافرمان بندوں کا رزق بھی بند نہیں کرتا تو امیر کا دل لپسیج گیا اور اس نے نہ صرف ان کا وظیفہ جاری کر دیا بلکہ پچھلے جتنے دنوں کا وظیفہ انھیں نہیں ملا تھا وہ بھی ادا کرنے کا حکم دے دیا۔ میں نے اس عالی ظرف کی بخشش کا شکر یہ ادا کیا۔
