Ehad-e-Tifli
تھے ديارِ نو زمين و آسماں ميرے ليے
وسعتِ آغوشِ مادر اِک جہاں ميرے ليے
thay diyar e nau zameen o aasman mere liye
wussat e aaghaush e madar ek jahan mere liye
تھی ہر اک جنبش نشانِ لطفِ جاں ميرے ليے
حرفِ بے مطلب تھی خود ميری زباں ميرے ليے
thi har ek junbish nishan e lutf e jaan mere liye
harf e be matlab thi khud meri zuban mere liye
درد ، طفلی ميں اگر کوئی ُرلاتا تھا مجھے
شورشِ زنجيرِ در ميں لطف آتا تھا مجھے
dard, tiflee mein agar koi rulata tha mujhe
shorish e zanjeer e dar mein lutf aata tha mujhe
تکتے رہنا ہائے! وہ پہروں تلک سُوئے قمر
وہ پھٹے بادل ميں بے آوازِ پا اُس کا سفر
takte rehana haye! vo pehron talak suay qamar
vo phate badal mein be aawaz e paa uss ka safar
پوچھنا رہ رہ کے اُس کے کوہ و صحرا کی خبر
!اور وہ حيرت دروغِ مصلحت آميز پر
pochna reh reh ke uss ke koh o sehra ki khabar
aur vo herat darogh e muslahat aamaz per
آنکھ وقفِ ديد تھی ، لب مائلِ گفتار تھا
دل نہ تھا ميرا ، سراپا ذوقِ استفسار تھا
aankh waqaf e deed thi, lab mayal e guftar tha
dil na tha mera, sarapa zauq e istafsar tha

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
